Peter Paul Rubens
Peter Rubens Paul (1577 to 1640) was a Flemish painter who majored in the Baroque art style of the 16th and 17th centuries. Thanks to his accentuation of movement, sensuality, and color, he became a key leader of the Catholic's counter-reformation painting style. Paul painted altarpieces, landscapes, and portraits admired to date by art nobility and collected across Europe. However, his historical art pieces of mythological and religious subjects contributed to his prominence. Other characteristics of his artwork include bold strokes, impasto, and dramatic positioning of the human body. Paul's notable works include "The Elevation of the Cross,” which is used to date in many cathedrals, and “The Descent from the Cross.” Adorn your room with Peter Paul’s art to add a symbolic, religious, or mythological vibe.
