Jean-Leon Gerome, the French academic painter, brought an almost photographic precision to history, myth and the Orient. This collection holds gallery-quality framed reproductions of his best-known scenes, from Truth Coming Out of Her Well to the atmospheric Moorish Bath and Solomon's Wall, Jerusalem. Each piece is an archival print, hand-framed to order in India. Choose the finish and size, and we build the frame around the work you pick.
Jean-Leon Gerome (1824-1904) was a French academic painter and sculptor. He is known for his highly finished historical, mythological and Orientalist scenes. Gerome worked with an almost photographic precision, building each surface detail by detail until the canvas held the clarity of a stopped moment.
Our collection reproduces the paintings that made Gerome famous. Truth Coming Out of Her Well is here, along with the quiet, tiled interior of Moorish Bath and the weathered stone of Solomon's Wall, Jerusalem. You will also find studies and detailed pieces such as Memnon and Sesostris and The Shrine of Imam Hussein. Every print is made on archival paper and hand-framed to order, so the fine detail Gerome is loved for survives the reproduction.
Gerome's work suits rooms that reward a second look. A large Orientalist scene gives a living-room wall real depth, while a smaller study sits well above a desk or reading chair. The warm stone and deep shadow in his paintings pair naturally with wood furniture and brass, both common in Indian homes. Hang a single work as a focal point, or group two related scenes on one wall for a considered, gallery feel.
Every artwork here is an archival print, hand-framed to order and delivered ready to hang — made in India.
