Rene Magritte

Rene Magritte (1898-1967) was a Belgian Surrealist. He built his art from everyday objects turned into visual riddles: a pipe, a bowler hat, an apple, a clouded sky. Works such as The Treachery of Images and his bowler-hatted men have become some of the most quoted images in modern art. Magritte never shouted. He let a small contradiction sit on the canvas until you noticed it.

The Rene Magritte Collection at BestOfBharat

This collection covers the paintings people recognise on sight. The Treachery of Images sets the words "this is not a pipe" beneath a painted pipe. Not to Be Reproduced shows a man facing a mirror that returns only his back. The Castle of the Pyrenees balances a whole castle on a floating rock. Each print is made on archival paper and hand-framed to order in India. The result keeps Magritte's flat, deadpan colour clean and legible. Together they show his range, from painted wordplay to quiet impossibility.

Rene Magritte in Your Space

A Magritte rewards a second look, so it suits rooms where you spend real time. Hang This Is Not an Apple in a study or reading corner. Place The Castle of the Pyrenees above a hallway console. In an Indian home, the calm palette sits well against white walls, teak, and warm brass. One framed piece is usually enough to hold a room. Keep the wall around it plain, so the image can do its work.

Every artwork here is an archival print, hand-framed to order and delivered ready to hang — made in India.
