John James Audubon

John James Audubon (1785-1851) was a French-American ornithologist and painter. He is remembered above all for The Birds of America. His work joined close scientific observation with real artistry, which is why the plates still hang in homes and galleries today.

The John James Audubon Collection at BestOfBharat

Our collection draws on the plates of The Birds of America. You can choose the four-bird study of the Yellow-Billed Magpie, Steller's Jay, Ultramarine Jay and Clark's Crow, or single portraits such as the Carolina Turtle Dove and the Yellow-Crowned Heron. Warblers, finches and the Black-Throated Blue Warbler round out the range. Every reproduction is printed on archival paper that holds Audubon's colour, then hand-framed to order so the finish suits your room.

John James Audubon in Your Space

These plates settle easily into an Indian home. A single heron print brings quiet focus to a study or reading corner. A pair of the jay portraits works well above a console in the hall. For a larger wall, group three or four bird studies in matching frames to build a small aviary of your own. The soft naturalist palette sits comfortably against both white walls and deeper heritage tones.

Every artwork here is an archival print, hand-framed to order and delivered ready to hang — made in India.
